In a strongly worded letter, FIA president Mohammad Ben Sulayem has referred to as out the net abuse in F1 and has pressured the necessity for ‘respect’ throughout the sport. Referring to the current loss of life threats obtained by Silvia Bellot, one in all FIA’s feminine stewards, he pressured how this type of abuse has been occurring for years now in an uncharacteristically strongly worded letter.
Ben Sulayem appealed to your complete motorsport ecosystem to take a stand and never ignore the abuse any additional. He wrote:
“Passions run excessive in sport, however on-line harassment, abuse and hate speech should not be tolerated. Everybody in our sport, from the media, groups, drivers and followers has a job to play. We can’t ignore this. I urge your complete motorsport ecosystem to take a stand. We should name it out. It has to cease.”
